A few of the Yorkies champion boys in the past and the making of what I have in the present. The quality continues and will continue for any future Goldenray Yorkies. It's very important to only use the very best when breeding dogs. Doesn't always mean using the one you have at home for the particular girl you are breeding. Always keep in mind what you feel the two will produce together and look for the best in both if you are hoping to get the best results. This is not an easy breed so it's very important that you learn everything possible before you start into selecting mates. That doesn't mean run to the top dog either. There is a lot of information out there about that exact subject for those wanting to learn how to do this properly. I'm always surprised since almost every article written in times past state this exact thing, yet I still see the consistency of running to whatever dog is currently out there winning in the show ring. That dog will still be there a few years down the road, so it would be smart to wait and see what they produce for a few years before committing so much of your future bloodline to him. Way too often I see people put all their future in one direction. If a health issue comes up they have no direction to turn with their current dogs. You have to look ahead at the long term picture of what you are doing.

If looking for your very first show dog, you are probably going to have a better chance of getting a quality male starting out than a female. The odds in breeding toy dogs is more males than females and the breeder would have one available quicker than a quality female. Either way be prepared to wait for the right dog to come along, because they are not readily available and the breeder will need to get to know you first to determine your seriousness of showing dogs.
I'm thankful for my beautiful champion boys and never forgetting that they contributed strongly to my line, but they were first and foremost my beloved pets and companions.
