Memorial website for the Yorkshire Terriers of Goldenray. Special mention here for all of the beautiful kids that have graced my life all these years and how very special they all were to me and still are in memory. The hardest part of having a dog as part of our lives is that at some point in time we must lose them. We are fortunate in toy dogs as they live longer than the larger breeds do, but even then it's still much too early when they leave us. Always a blessing if they can go quietly in their sleep and wouldn't that be nice in every situation, yet it's not always the way it works unfortunately. If their quality of life is good and your companion is not in any type of pain, than they are able to still enjoy their everyday life. I've been very fortunate to have these wonderful dogs in my life all these years. Even in their loss I have always been so grateful for the years I've had the love from my dogs. Yorkies are a breed that ages gracefully and you are able to enjoy them for many years.

If you've lost your dog recently, you have the decision to make about what to do with the remains. I get a lot of calls about this where people are trying to deal with their grief with losing their beloved companion and I know how tough the decision can be when trying to decide what to do at the time of the loss of their companion. As the dog is aging some will go out and start researching to get some ideas on how to handle the situation when the time comes and they do lose their pets. There really are numerous things you can consider doing. Some people bury them in their yards and even make nice little memorials there for them while others just have a nice area set aside for them. Other people have them buried at pet cemeteries since so many areas don't permit animals to be buried on their land, and yet others cremate them and either keep the remains or they'll spread the remains out in their sweet dog's favorite areas that they loved to romp in or lay in. I know many people that will keep the remains to some day be placed with them at their own passing. There are some lovely urns out there that you can get to keep their remains in if cremation ends up being your choice. It's very easy to do an online search for pet urns if this is the decision you make. It's entirely a personal decision that works for you. Each person needs to do what brings you and your family the most comfort.
